Shark Tank DARTdrones Update

DARTdrones Update

  • Entrepreneur: Abby Speicher
  • Business: Done training and educational resources
  • Ask: $300,000 for 10% equity
  • Result: $300,000 for 10% equity
  • Shark: Mark Cuban

At the time of Abby’s pitch, DARTdrones offered drone training and educational courses in several cities across the United States. The company sells training via packages with online classes to help new pilots learn everything there is to know about flying “Unmanned Aerial Systems.”

Obviously, the sharks were impressed. Robert Herjavec even said he needed to get himself a drone. They were even more impressed to learn that the company had already done $525,000 in sales in 18 months. However, according to Abby, the company was not profitable yet. The good news was that some colleges inquired about the company if they were open to licensing the teaching courses.

Just as Mark Cuban was talking about how it would be difficult to acquire customers, Kevin O’Leary swooped in to offer $300,000 for 15% equity. But, as if to make a point, Mark decided to give Abby exactly what she wanted. She away with a deal with the richest entrepreneur on Shark Tank.

The good news from our DartDrones Training update does not end there. As of February 2021, DartDrones has grown massively. The company now has more than 40 flight instructors, with drone pilot training now available in 28+ cities, and 15 new courses with more coming in the future.

The future looks bright for Abby and Mark, and we hope to have an even better DartDrones update in the future.
